Our Story

Although we were friends while attending Brigham Young University, we didn't start to date until the summer following our graduation. We took a trip with some friends to raft the beautiful Rogue River in Oregon, and we fell in love on the adventure. We were married six months later in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, and we have been best friends ever since.

We feel so humbled and blessed to grow our family through adoption. After much prayer, we absolutely know that adoption is the way the Lord intended for us to put our eternal family together. We are excited for this new adventure in our lives, and we feel strongly that adoption will bring miracles for all involved that we can hardly imagine at present.

September 2011 brought with it the greatest blessing when Peter joined our family and fulfilled our dream of being parents. Lindsey went into labor early in the morning on Labor Day! We had a very smooth delivery, and Peter came into the world healthy and without complication. Lindsey, however, experienced some serious complications when she began to hemorrhage. After 8 hours in the Operating Room, she arrested. The doctors performed CPR and an emergency hysterectomy. She was on life support for a week, in the hospital for a week and a half. It was the greatest challenge of our lives, but we were blessed more ways than we can count. Not only did we feel the dedicated love of our family members, friends, ward members, and neighbors encircled around us, but we very tangibly felt the unfailing love of the Lord, confirming to us that everything was and will be just as it should be. We will forever cherish this time in our lives which fortified our love for each other and enlightened our understanding of God's plan and timing. It made us stronger and better prepared for the challenges we will meet in the future. We were overwhelmed with gratitude for our amazing family members who offered support in a variety of special ways.

Being reunited with Peter the day Lindsey was discharged was the most wonderful moment for our family. We instantly saw how our greatest trial was undoubtedly our greatest blessing. When reflecting on this experience, we see how we have been the beneficiaries of so much love, and we acknowledge that love and faith which has overflowed in our own hearts. We can't wait to watch our family grow through adoption. Because of our experience, we have an increased abundance of love we are excited to offer.
